Donate to WELL
WELL was funded at its inception entirely by donations from its local participants' and the Post Carbon Institute. Other significant revenue sources have been the educational events that WELL volunteers produce and individual donations. In March of 2007 we received a significant grant from the Wallace Global Fund – Reconnecting People and Places.
WELL spends most of its funds on staff time of 40 hours per week. Other ongoing costs are office expenses such as rent and communication. The server space for this website is provided graciously by Post Carbon Institute while WELL provides the contents. Our new office at 713 S. Main St, Suite A is no longer shared with REDI, so WELL is paying all of the costs directly.
WELL also supports other programs and organizations in the Willits area, such as the Grateful Gleaners, the Now and Then Film Series, and the Willits Watershed Mural. Starting with our first mini-grant distribution in October of 2007, WELL initiated the WELL MidWIFE Program in which we will give grants of $50 to $2000 to local projects that are moving our community towards an Enduring Local Economy. In January of 2008 this was renamed to the WELL Local Seed Grants.
Please help WELL continue its important work in localizing the Willits' economy by contributing today. Donations can be made through PayPal using the buttons below or sent to our P.O. Box, made payable to WELL. If you want your donation to be more specific, you may designate all or a portion of your contribution to the following funds:
